GameStop is partnering with blockchain startup Immutable X to launch its non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace later this year as they look to take advantage of the booming market and growing NFT adoption rates. For those who don’t know, Immutable X by Immutable is a Layer-2 scalability protocol for NFTs on the Ethereum chain enabling transactions at a much faster rate compared to Ethereum, requiring low computing power and saving more penguins by having a lower environmental impact. Crypto Rumours
This year’s Super Bowl saw a marketing frenzy from crypto brands looking to attract some mainstream users into the space. Crypto.com showed that fortune favours the brave by teaming up with LeBron James for an ad that aired immediately after the halftime show. Coinbase’s ad even proved so popular the app temporarily crashed! The ad featured a colourful bouncing QR code that brought viewers to landing page with a promotional offer: $15 of free Bitcoin for new users as well as entry into a $3 million giveaway.
Nike owned virtual collectibles studio RTKFT has released a new MNLTH series, with Nike and RTFKT co-branding. The MNLTH (pronounced Monolith), which is currently being sold on OpenSea, features a dark metallic finish with patterns etch and overlayed on the exteriors with glowing Nike and RTFKT log cutouts. What’s actually inside the pods though? No one knows, as the interior is being kept a secret.
Shiba Inu’s team announced in a blog post that they’re working on their own doggy version of virtual real estate on the metaverse, codenamed Shibverse (the real name to be revealed “soon”, although Shibverse is a pretty cool name!). The team plans on offering Shiba Land for sale through a queue system that will prevent gas wars and bots, and people interested in buying Shiba Land will have to hold LEASH tokens.Android 👀
